The House of Ill Repute, running so far to the left that Che Guevara would blush, has just passed a restrictive and expensive markup aimed at America's Real Estate industry. This is the industry responsible for leading the country out of the 2001-2002 recession. The amazing progress in operating and energy efficiencies in real estate, the growing success of groups like the USGBC and industry-driven energy efficiency standards being incorporated into ASHRAE's new Standard 189 are irritating to our Soviet planners, who wish to control the industry themselves. It's worth suggesting that these bureaucrats couldn't manage a hot dog stand in the free market.
